Gouda, 11 June 2026 – Centric and Nextcloud are joining forces to provide Dutch government organizations with a sovereign digital workplace environment. The solution combines Centric’s IT services with Nextcloud’s open-source collaboration platform and is aimed at organizations that want to retain maximum control over their data and digital infrastructure.
The collaboration is intended for, among others, the central government, municipalities, and other public organizations that need to meet stricter requirements regarding privacy, data protection, and digital autonomy.

Open-source collaboration platform
The workplace solution is based on Nextcloud Hub, an open-source platform for collaboration and communication. Users can share and edit documents, chat, make video calls, and manage email, contacts, and calendars within a single digital work environment.
Centric provides the management, security, and operational support for the environment. Organizations retain full control over the storage location, access, and management of their data. Because the software is open source, it can be independently inspected and audited.
The solution complies with European regulations and aligns with the growing need within the public sector for digital independence and transparency.
Broader sovereign ecosystem
Centric and Nextcloud aim to expand their collaboration in the coming period with additional technologies and partners to build a broader sovereign digital ecosystem for the Dutch public sector.
